1st Avenue in Steinhatchee receives ‘memorial designation’ of First Freedom Avenue; official unveiling set for May 25

Taylor County is on the path to becoming Florida’s “shining star” for veterans, according to American Legion Post 291 Commander Shelley Jefferson, who made the declaration after the Taylor County Commission approved a “memorial designation” recognizing 1st Avenue in Steinhatchee as “First Freedom Avenue.”
