Taylor County Extension will host annual ‘Scallop Seminar’ in Steinhatchee June 12

The Taylor County Extension Office invites residents and visitors to attend the “2026 Taylor County Scallop Seminar” on Friday, June 12, at 6 p.m. at the Steinhatchee Community Center.

The free event is designed to help get recreational scallopers ready for scallop season with the latest updates on bay scallop populations, current research and innovation, harvesting regulations, boating best practices and tips to help protect our seagrass habitats.

Participants will also have the opportunity to receive their own “scallop sorter.”
