Juneteenth Gala tickets now on sale

The Juneteenth Committee 1865 will host a Juneteenth community celebration and evening gala on Saturday, June 27, at the Jerkins Community Center.

The festivities will begin with a free Community Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring games, educational activities and fellowship for all ages.

Minister Kenneth Fuller will be the keynote speaker for the morning. Local vendors are also invited to participate.

The celebration will continue that evening with the second annual “Dripping in Melanin Excellence” Juneteenth Gala, which will begin at 6 p.m.

This evening will honor distinguished educators and community leaders, featuring a keynote address by Elder Michael Sneed Jr. and the announcement of the Dollie Educational Fund recipient.

Tickets for the gala are available for $35 per person or $250 for a table of eight.
