    Betty Ruth (Dillashaw) Mills

    Betty Ruth (Dillashaw) Mills was born on Sept. 25, 1930, in Greenwood, S.C. A beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and, most especially, Grandma, she passed away peacefully on Aug. 30, 2026. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, to whom she was married for more than 64 years; her daughter, Hazel; her son, Billy; and her parents. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by: her daughter, Kathy Hill (Mark); three grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; three greatgreat-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty and Bill loved to travel and managed to Betty Ruth Dillashaw Mills visit almost all 50 states, with some states visited numerous times. She was talented in sewing and crafts, and was especially known for her quilting skills, which she was invited to showcase on several occasions. She also enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sharing many stories and memories about them. Betty had a nurturing spirit and cared for several family members during their illnesses throughout the years. She loved the Lord and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Perry, for more than 60 years, having joined not long after the church was founded. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Calvary Baptist Church for all the love and care they have shown Betty throughout the years, and to her longtime caregiver, Linda Russell, for her loving care and support. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Brother Ben Kimmell officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
