Kristy Lynn Black It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kristy Lynn Black, who left us on Sept. 25, 2026. Born on July 12, 1957, in Miami, Kristy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She made her home in Perry, where she filled her days with love and joy, creating a warm and welcoming space for everyone around her. Kristy was a devoted homemaker, always finding joy in the little things – she loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, making memories that will last a lifetime. An avid yard sale enthusiast, she delighted in hunting for hidden treasures, and her passion for fishing and camping brought her closer to nature and to those she loved. She is preceded in death by: her parents, Pete and Mary Snyder; her daughter, Laura Barton; her brother, David Snyder; and a grandson, Donovan Hendry. Kristy is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Bobby Black, who will carry her memory and spirit in his heart forever. She is also survived by: her daughter Stacy Mixon and her husband, Joey; her step-daughter, Melanie Bush; her sisters, Robin Housh and Dianne Worthington; her brother, Billy Snyder; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kristy’s life in a service on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brother Mike Hodge officiating. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service. We invite everyone who knew her to join us in reminiscing about the beautiful moments spent with Kristy, honoring her vibrant spirit and the wonderful legacy she leaves behind. Rest in peace, Kristy. You will be missed beyond words.
