Tag fees going down

With Florida Gov. Rick Scott signing Senate Bill 156, which rolled back many of the 2009 tax increases on motor vehicle registration renewals, Taylor County Tax Collector Mark Wiggins is recommending residents not purchase a two-year tag renewal until after the new law goes into effect in September.

“Last winter, we announced our intent to return $500 million to Floridians by cutting taxes,” Scott said after signing the bill. “Today, we are rolling back many of the 2009 tax increases on annual motor vehicle registrations.
