Wildfire caused by lightning

Personnel with the Florida Forest Service (FFS) battled a 25-acre wildfire Monday near Lake Bird off U.S. 221.

According to Jack Smith with FFS, the fire, which was started by a lightning strike during Sunday’s storms, was discovered Monday morning around 8 a.m.
