    Senate recognition a historic first

    In what is believed to be a historical first for Taylor County, the Florida Senate recognized a local deputy with a formal resolution and presentation on the Senate Floor.

    Shooting survivor Deputy Robert Lundy received a standing ovation by Senate members on the final day of their 2014 session.

    PHOTO: Taylor County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Lundy received a standing ovation from the Florida Senate. Local representative Bill Montford proposed a Senate resolution honoring Lundy for his actions in response to the Timberland Ford shooting incident. Sheriff L.E. “Bummy” Williams and Lundy’s wife, Kelly, joined him at the recognition ceremony.
