With Taylor County one of 26 counties under a state declaration of emergency due to the recent flooding across the Florida Panhandle, local residents whose wells may have been affected by the high water can receive a free quality test.
“An emergency declaration is in place for the panhandle area of Florida, including Taylor County,” Florida Department of Health in Taylor County Environmental Manager James Rachal said. “Under the Emergency Operations Plan, counties named in the executive order, or at the discretion of the State Surgeon General, will waive fees for testing of private well water.
