SRWMD approves 248-acre land sale

The Suwannee River Water Management District Governing Board has approved the sale of a 248- acre Hampton Springs Road tract to Taylor County, calling it a “mutually beneficial transaction.”

The Taylor County Commission chose to acquire the 248 acres by foregoing the Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) from the district for the next 10 years, unanimously approving an interlocal agreement between it and the district on Aug. 19.
