Wentworth shoots 79 on first day of state golf tourney

Taylor County High’s Cole Wentworth placed in a tie for 45th out of 96 golfers at the Class 1A State finals held this week at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills.

The junior golfer fired a 79 on the first day of the tourney to tie for 18th but followed with an 86 the second day on the long and narrow course.
