The Taylor County United Way campaign team gathered at the “tree-meter” at the county courthouse to install the first three slices, symbolizing the first $100,000 raised toward this year’s $275,000 goal.

Campaign Associate Glenda Hamby said there are many local campaigns underway with others, such as various student campaigns, ready to kick off in the next few weeks. “The great thing about United Way is that every dollar raised in this community, stays in this community,” Hamby said. “It goes toward Meals on Wheels, food pantries, Pre-K programs, after-school care and so many other agencies in Taylor County.”
