Grey skies did not dampen the spirits of runners taking part in this year’s Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run Thursday morning. (Top photo) Taylor Correctional Institution’s K-9 Squad Sgt. PHOTOS: As has become tradition, Taylor County Special Olympics athletes, coaches and runners adjourned to Burger King for a complimentary lunch provided by the restaurant following the annual Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run. This year’s event was held Thursday morning, April 4, and saw nine law enforcement agencies represented: Perry Police Department, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, Florida Forests Service, Florida Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Compliance, City of Perry Fire Department, Taylor County Fire-Rescue, Doctors’ Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Medical Services and Taylor Correctional Institution (TCI) K-9 Squad.
