Jobless rate here tumbles

In its first significant movement in five months, Taylor County’s unemployment rate dropped almost a full percentage point to 8.3 percent, its lowest mark in years.

The county’s rate had been holding between 9.1 and 9.3 percent since October after falling from a 2012 high of 10.1 percent in July.
