Close call for TCSO deputy

Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) Deputy James “Jimmy” Cash credits a higher power for keeping him safe during a one-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon. “That was all the good Lord,” Cash said of the scene in Salem.

The front left tire of his patrol car went flat, causing him to lost control of the vehicle, Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Stewart Smith reported. “His vehicle traveled onto the west shoulder of U.S. 19 South and struck three road signs with the right rear of his car.” The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 19 and Fish Creek Road. Cash was not injured.
