Gerald Wesley “Jerry” Bayless died peacefully Thursday, May 7, in his Orlando home after a two-and-a-half year battle with throat cancer. He was born on Sept. 9, 1943, in Perry.

For family, there will be a small private graveside service Saturday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at Paran Church Cemetery, in Melrose off Highway 100 (between Grandin and Palatka).

A larger Celebration of Jerry’s Life for friends, family and coworkers will take place on the afternoon of May 24 at a location to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jerry’s honor to the American Cancer Society, the ASPCA, Cornerstone Hospice in Orlando or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1515 S Semoran Blvd, Orlando, FL 32822.
