Crews preparing for a state resurfacing project on U.S. 27 in Perry struck a city water main on Friday, June 5, damaging the roadway and closing one of the city’s busiest intersections for most of the day.
According to City Manager Bob Brown, a subcontractor for the company conducting the work on behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) bored into a 12-inch water main near the intersection of Jefferson Street and U.S. 27 Friday morning.
