Short story winners to be announced

Mayo authors Delores Leggett Walker and Jonnie Kidd Whittington will speak at the Monday, June 29, meeting of the Friends of the Taylor County Public Library.

The program will begin at 6:15 p.m. with an awards ceremony for the winning authors in the Friends’ ninth annual Short Story Contest. The top stories will be announced today (Friday, June 12), with a list of winners available at the library.

Walker, who was raised in Perry, is the author of the “Promise Series” of Christian suspense novels.
Whittington is the author of “The Kidd Family Adventures Series” consisting of historical fiction novels based on her family’s history.

The community is invited to attend this free program. The library is located at 403 N. Washington St.
