Mrs. Janie Ruth Padgett, 89, passed away on Jan. 12, 2019, in\nMayo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Janie was born Oct. 22, 1929, in Perry to Perry Randolph Ward\nand Estelle Sheffield Ward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Janie was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church\nwhere she served in various roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was preceded in death by: her parents Perry and Estelle\nWard; her brother, Donald; sisters, Koot and Susie; son, Randy; and her\nhusband, Doyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is survived by: her daughter Ruth Ann (Ray) Whitfield;\ndaughter-in-law, Dianne Padgett; grandchildren, Curt and Drew Whitfield, and\nJosh Padgett and five great-grandchildren as a well as several nieces and\nnephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m. at\nFriendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Curt Whitfield and the Rev. Ron Blair\nofficiating. Interment services followed immediately afterward in Woodlawn\nCemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service, from 10-11\na.m., fat the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
