Lavada Sue Shiver, 58, passed away Jan. 29, 2019, in Perry.\nLavada was born June 21, 1960, in Perry to Robert Gilbert Shiver and Iris\nJohnson Shiver. She was a lifelong resident of Perry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lavada was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of\nFirst Presbyterian Church of Perry. She Participated in Taylor County Special\nOlympics for many years, for which she received many ribbons and medals. She\nalso enjoyed fishing, jigsaw puzzles and watching her favorite T.V. shows like\nMash and Gun Smoke. Her love for Elvis Presley was apparent from the large\ncollection of memorabilia she acquired in her lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lavada was preceded in death by: her parents, Robert Gilbert\nShiver and Iris Johnson Shiver; and her sister, Judy Carolyn Russell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is survived by: her sisters ,Jo Ann and her husband,\nGlenn Knowles, of Perry, and Melissa and her husband, Gary Nixon, of LaPorte,\nTexas; two brothers, Robert and his wife, Martelle Shiver, and Ralph Shiver,\nall of Perry; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, at 12 p.m.\nat First Presbyterian Church of Perry with Rev. Larry Neal and Bro. Billy\nGipson officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in\nLake Bird Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11-12\np.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at First Presbyterian Church of Perry. All arrangements\nare under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
