Shirley Jalene Parker, 85, entered\nher forever heavenly home on Monday, February 4, 2019, no doubt hearing, \u201cWell\ndone, good and faithful servant!\u201d She slipped peacefully into Heaven while holding\nthe hand of her beloved sister and surrounded by loved ones. Shirley was born\nMarch 21, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., to Charles K. and Edna Marie Bitner. She worked\nin the nursing field at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) where she retired\nin 1998, subsequently, she returned to work at TMH Child Care Center where her\ngranddaughter attended until kindergarten, she continued to volunteer at the\nhospital and sat with patients for many years after retirement. Shirley also\nretired from the Florida Department of Highway Safety prior to her years at TMH.\nShe attended Celebration Baptist Church in Tallahassee before moving to Oak\nRidge, Tenn., where she was an active member of First Baptist Church of Oak\nRidge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was adored and loved by her\nthree children and her grandchildren. Shirley was known for her fun-loving,\nadventurous and only slightly mischievous personality. Blessed with an uncanny\nability to bring joy and laughter to any situation, her love, generosity and\ngreat sense of humor were cherished and appreciated by all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is survived by her daughters,\nJudy Lorraine Murillo (William) and Michelle Jalene Parker, her son Ralph Douglas\nParker (Debbie) who were the central focus of her life; and her sister Judy\nMullins (Barry); nine grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life, five\ngreat grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and\nnephews. She will be greatly missed but\nher spirit lives on in the heart of her children, grandchildren and a multitude\nof people who loved her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Celebration of life for Shirley\nwill be held in Tallahassee, Fla., at a later date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
