Marjorie Montgomery Poole, 91, went to be\nwith her Lord on May 23, 2019, at her home in Perry surrounded by family.\nMarjorie was born February 7, 1928, in Louin, Miss., to William Oree Montgomery\nand Claudia Williams Montgomery. She was the youngest of eight children.

\nMrs. Poole was of the Baptist faith and was a longtime member of\nFirst Baptist Church of Perry, where she served in many capacities, most often\nin the children\u2019s department. Marjorie had a passion for teaching small\nchildren. She taught kindergarten at Happytime Preschool here in Perry and also\ntaught preschool and first grade in Mississippi. Her greatest joy was being a\nhomemaker, where she was a devoted wife for almost 72 years and a loving mother\nto her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

\n\u201cMrs. Margie\u201d was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
\n
\nMrs. Poole is survived by her husband Mr. Robert D. \u201cBob\u201d Poole;\nher daughters, Joan Brett (Gary) of Perry and Nancy Braun (Jeff) of Fort Mill,\nSC; four grandchildren, Lauren Brett Rhea (Barry) of Birmingham, Ala., Amy\nBrett Sherrer (Ryan) of Perry, Hayden Braun of Juneau, Alaska, and Amelia Braun\nof Greenville, S.C., five great grandchildren, Charley, Caden, and Elizabeth\nRhea, and Presley and Ellie Sherrer; as well as a host of nieces and nephews,\nespecially Bert Close (Janeen) of Peachtree City, Ga., and Trish Close of\nPeachtree City, Ga. Among those she dearly loved were her \u201cadopted\u201d\ndaughters\/caregivers, Cynthia Buggs and Angela Oliver of Perry, and numerous\nothers.

\nA Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at 4\np.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry with Bro. Gary Brett and Pastor Steven\nRuff officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday,\nMay 25, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Perry. A private family burial will\ntake place at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations\nto Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, Fla. 32308. All\narrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
