Robert was born March 8, 1936, in Taylor County to William Lonnie\nMixon and Jessie Pearl Knight Mixon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bob honorably served our country in the United States Air\nForce for 22 years as a telecommunicator.&nbsp;He was of the Baptist faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bob was a member of the Perry Masonic Lodge #123, Marzuq\nShrine Temple in Tallahassee and Perry Shrine Club, where he served as\nPresident. He also served as the Krazy Wheels President, and he was very active\nwith the Tuesday Bingo Social. He drove countless miles to and from the\nShriners Hospitals for kids for many years.<br>\n<br>\nBob&nbsp;was preceded in death by: his parents, William Lonnie Mixon and Jessie\nPearl Knight Mixon; his brother, Baniard Mixon; and his sister, Helen\nRickerson.<br>\n<br>\nBob&nbsp;is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Vergie Mixon; his two sons,\nRobert and his wife Melody Mixon and Steve and his wife Kristi Mixon; his\nsister, Dorothy Fightmaster; several&nbsp;grandchildren,\nand&nbsp;great-grandchildren; as a well as a host of nieces and nephews.<br>\n<br>\nMemorial&nbsp;services will be held Friday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at Joe P. Burns\nFuneral Home with Bill Tolson, and Cherryl&nbsp;Mixon&nbsp;officiating. The\nfamily will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. before the service at the funeral\nhome.
