Myrtis \u201cBootsie\u201d Clees, nee Louque, of St. Petersburg, passed\naway Saturday, June 23, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert \u201cBob\u201d Clees, and\nson, John Clees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is survived by: children Jim (and Darlene) Clees and Joan\nHerrera; grandchildren, Roberto Quinonez, Carla (and Jeff) Mulhollan, Jennifer\nClees, Sarah Clees; and great-grandchildren, Caleb Quinonez and Hazel\nMulhollan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The daughter of Joseph and Alusia Louque, Bootsie was born\nand raised in Perry and graduated from Taylor County High School in 1938. She\ngraduated from Florida State College for Women (now FSU) in 1942, becoming a\nteacher in Salem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her brothers and sisters were Lionel (and Jenny) Louque,\nLizette (and Charlie) Tarver, Hilda (and O.W.) Jones, E.A. \u201cMoe\u201d (and Louise)\nLouque, and Tony (and Margaret) Louque. \nLocal nieces and nephews include Carol (and Chuck) Hendry, and Jimmy\n(and Glennis) Louque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1943, Bootsie met Bob, a second lieutenant, who was\nstationed at Perry Army Air Field, training to become a P-47 fighter pilot.\nThey became engaged before he shipped out for the war in Europe and married\nupon his return in early 1945. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They lived the lives of a military couple, moving many times,\nstationed in six different states and two foreign countries, raising three kids\nalong the way. Twice more, in the Korean War and the Vietnam War, Bootsie had\nto say goodbye to Bob as he was sent off to fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When Bob came home from Vietnam in 1966, the family moved to\nSt. Petersburg, where Bob retired a few years later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Myrtis passed away in St. Petersburg, of natural causes,\nafter a long, full life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Visitation will be held today (Friday) at Beggs Funeral Home\nin Perry from 6-8 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
