{"id":23859,"date":"2019-08-06T16:49:55","date_gmt":"2019-08-06T20:49:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/perrynewspapers.com\/?p=23859"},"modified":"2019-08-06T16:49:56","modified_gmt":"2019-08-06T20:49:56","slug":"james-lloyd-pittman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/perrynewspapers.com\/?p=23859","title":{"rendered":"James Lloyd Pittman"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>James\nLloyd Pittman, 83, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at his daughter\u2019s home in Bishop,\nGa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From\nhis birth on October 17,1935, to his death,&nbsp;James lived life to the fullest through\nsimple pleasures, chatting with friends and family and spending time outdoors.\nJames had an uncanny ability to reach people in a positive way through his\nimpromptu joke telling and stories.&nbsp;James enjoyed helping people and rescuing animals. He generously\ngave to others while living life modestly and appreciatively.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Survivors\ninclude: his two daughters, Sandra Pittman Lally (Timothy) and Brenda Pittman\nElwell (Kevin), from Bishop, Ga.; his grandchildren, Lacy Elizabeth Lally,\nJames Vincent Lally, Alan Michael Elmore, Julia Suzanne Elmore and Julia\nReynolds Elwell; his brother, Randall Hilton Pittman of Nashville, Ga.; many\nnieces and nephews; as well as many special friends from the Spring Warrior\nCommunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preceding\nhim in death was: his son, James Alan Pittman; his parents, Willis Daniel\nPittman and Merle Walker Pittman; his brothers, Travis Laverne Pittman, Wendell\nEdward Pittman and sister, Karen Pittman Rowe; his former wife and friend,\nBetty Hayes Pittman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As\na young man, James was enlisted in the army and spent time in Germany. He was a\nlongtime resident of Valdosta, Ga. where he owned a NAPA auto parts store. He\nwas known for helping many stranded motorists along the highway. He later\nretired and purchased Spring Warrior Fish Camp in Perry.&nbsp; He enjoyed many\nyears operating the fish camp while making repeat customers and cherished\nfriendships.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\nwill be remembered for his generosity, his quick wit, his genuine love for\npeople and animals, and of course, his dart throwing championships.<br>\nA memorial\nservice will be held Sunday, Aug. 25, at 3 p.m., at Spring Warrior Fish Camp in\nPerry.
