Surrounded by her family, Evelyn M.\nKarakitsios, 87, of Satellite Beach, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Born October 27, 1931 in Tarpon Springs,\nEvelyn was the daughter of the late Harry and Katina Mantzanas of Perry. She\nwas raised in Perry and graduated from Taylor County High School in 1949. She\ngraduated from Florida State University in 1953, and worked as a teacher,\nprincipal and administrator for the Taylor County School District throughout\nher career as an educator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Evelyn is survived by: her husband of 56\nyears, Costas N. Karakitsios; two daughters, Thalia Stamatelos and her husband,\nThomas, of Bedford Hills, N.Y., and Ephi Karakitsios of Athens, Greece; a\nsister, Irene Kelly of Atlantic Beach; two grandchildren, John Thomas and\nNicholas Stamatelos; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A graveside service will be conducted at\n10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry. Services will be\nofficiated by the Reverend Father Robert J. O\u2019Loughlin, priest at Holy Mother\nof God Greek Orthodox Church of Tallahassee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
