{"id":25042,"date":"2019-11-19T07:02:00","date_gmt":"2019-11-19T12:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/perrynewspapers.com\/?p=25042"},"modified":"2019-11-19T19:38:48","modified_gmt":"2019-11-20T00:38:48","slug":"sun-sand-santa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/perrynewspapers.com\/?p=25042","title":{"rendered":"Sun, Sand &#038; Santa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Celebrate the holiday season with \u201cSun, Sand &amp; Santa\u201d at\nthe annual Downtown Christmas Open House planned Friday, Dec. 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Festivities will include the \u201cSanta\u2019s Little Helpers\nChristmas Parade\u201d sponsored by the Perry-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce\nstarting at 6 p.m. along with the second annual Gingerbread House Workshop\nhosted by 4-H.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year\u2019s parade route has been extended, taking entries\ndown Jefferson Street to Ellis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The parade will turn in front of the Old Depot and circle back\nto Jefferson Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participating entries will park along Jefferson Street for\nup-close looks and visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Taylor County Historical Society will also be\ncoordinating a tree-lighting ceremony, arts and crafts booths, \u201cLetters to\nSanta\u201d stations and a chili supper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visitors will be invited to sign Christmas cards that will\nbe given to residents at the local nursing and rehabilitation home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Historical Society has also partnered with Andy\nJackson\u2019s \u201cGram\u2019s Legacy\u201d citrus grove to bring back a Christmas tradition that\ndates back to the late 1960s \u2013 Santa Claus will be giving out homegrown oranges\nto all good little girls and boys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arts and crafts booth applications are available at the\nChamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Celebrate the holiday season with \u201cSun, Sand &amp; Santa\u201d at the annual Downtown Christmas Open House planned Friday, Dec. 6.
