Mrs. Jean Hart, 92, of Mayo passed away Sunday, March 1,\n2020, at Lafayette Health Care following a brief illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jean was born Nov. 14, 1927 in Waycross, Ga., to Everette\nSimeon Burns and Lillian Ethel Sorrels Burns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She grew up in Perry, where she attended and graduated from\nTaylor County High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following high school, she attended beauty school in\nJacksonville and then moved to Mayo where she met and married Mitchel Hart in\n1948.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She worked as a beautician all of her adult life and owned\nand operated the \u201cHappy Feet & Happy Hair\u201d beauty shop in Mayo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Mayo\nMethodist Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading and\nspending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her\nparents; her husband, Mitchel Hart, in 2014; a grandson, Greg Hart, in 2000; a\nbrother, Clifford Burns, in 2012; and her son-in-law, Moray Taylor, in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is survived by: a son, Michael Hart, and wife, Pat, of\nMayo; a daughter, Angie Taylor, of Live Oak; four grandchildren, Holly (Troy)\nHamlin, Nancy (Joe) Taylor, Ashley (Nickey) Taylor, and Jason (Barbara) Taylor;\nsix great-grandchildren, Lindsey (Ben) Jones, Taylor Livingston, Cody Hamlin,\nCassidy Livingston, Gavin Taylor and Garrett Taylor; and two great-great\ngrandchildren, Tristan Jones, and Rowyn Livingston. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Funeral services for Mrs. Hart will be held today (Wednesday)\nat 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Mayo with the Rev. Dallas Monismith\nofficiating and the Rev. Tim Hamm assisting. \nInterment will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m.\nTuesday, March 3, also at Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
