{"id":27357,"date":"2020-06-09T15:46:10","date_gmt":"2020-06-09T19:46:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/perrynewspapers.com\/?p=27357"},"modified":"2020-06-09T15:46:12","modified_gmt":"2020-06-09T19:46:12","slug":"elvan-wayne-johnson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/perrynewspapers.com\/?p=27357","title":{"rendered":"Elvan Wayne Johnson"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Elvan Wayne Johnson, born July 30,1938, passed away unexpectedly on June 04, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A native of Perry, Mr. Johnson was a Vietnam era veteran and served in the United States Navy for 14 years.&nbsp; After his military service he resided in Boston, Mass., where he worked at the Massachusetts State Police as a dispatcher. He then went on to work for Citicorp Group and ultimately retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs in Boston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Mr. Johnson and his wife moved to his home state of Florida for retirement where he resided until his passing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was preceded in death by: his sons, Anthony Wayne Johnson and Nicholas Metrick, and siblings Thomas Johnson of Tallahassee and Betty Joe Hughes of Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is survived by: his wife of 51 years, Rebecca Johnson; his daughter, Desiree Johnson of Las Cruces N.M.; his son, Juan Jose Johnson and his wife, Lisa of Batesville, Ark.; daughter, Mary Carmen Dodero of Spain; son, Eugene Rector of Lowell, Mass.; his grandchildren, Alexander McCusker, Maggie Mombourquette and Micheal Ash; his siblings, Donnie Johnson and Dora Jane Miller of Perry; Dolores Guidry of Lafayette, La., and Marie Gordon Martell of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his dear companion, his dog, Kitty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A graveside service will be held Friday, June 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Tallahassee National Cemetery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elvan Wayne Johnson, born July 30,1938, passed away unexpectedly on June 04, 2020.
