Born on Sept. 1, 1925, in Shady Grove, Reba lived a life filled with love, joy and devotion to her family. She pleasures enjoyed like simple f ishing, cooking delicious meals and listening to gospel music. Her warm smile, kind heart and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by: her loving daughters, Jan Tuten and Charlotte Bell (Chuck); her sisters, Jewel Horton and June Lytle; grandson; Benjye Tuten; and a host of nieces and nephews, who will always cherish her memory in their hearts. Reba was preceded in death by: her husband, Elton Hayes; her son-in-law, Pete Tuten; and her parents, L.P. and Ruby Hendry. Reba was a dedicated retail clerk in the sales industry, where her hard work and friendly demeanor left a lasting impact on colleagues and customers alike. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Reba\u2019s life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Burns Funeral Home in Perry, beginning at 3 p.m. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service, starting at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Lake Bird Methodist Church Cemetery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reba Hayes, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Aug. 21, 2024, at the age of 98 in Lake Bird.
