City taxpayers will bear the brunt of the estimated $6,000-8,000 cost of tearing down the abandoned, derelict gas station located at the corner of Dundee Street and U.S. Highway 19 North.
A city work crew was at the site early Wednesday morning to begin demolition; by day’s end, the lot was cleared of all building materials and debris.
