Perry native to head FDLE

Taylor County native Rick Swearingen, who was named interim commissioner of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) late last year, has been named the permanent commissioner by Gov. Rick Scott and the Florida Cabinet.

Scott appointed Swearingen to the position Wednesday and members of the Florida Cabinet approved the move.
