After the Taylor County School District’s request for funding to construct a new Perry Primary School did not make it into the final state budget this summer, the school board agreed last week to hire a lobbyist to help its efforts this funding cycle.
The board voted 3-1 to hire Paul M. Hawkes to assist the district in securing funding. Board member Danny Glover was the sole no vote, while board member Danny Lundy was not present at the meeting.
