More than a week after widespread flooding struck Steinhatchee, many residents still can only reach their homes by boat.
According to County Administrator Dustin Hinkel, who updated commissioners during a special meeting Monday evening, about 50 homes have been affected in the county, with several sustaining major damage and water inside the structures. At that same meeting, the commission voted unanimously to extend its local declaration of emergency for another week.
