    County sets special meeting to consider $11.2 million loan re-fi

    The Taylor County Commission will hold a special meeting later this month to consider a bank loan to refinance the remaining $11.2 million in debt the county owes from constructing and equipping Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH).

    Although commissioners originally intended to consider the loan during a public hearing at next week’s regular board meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 18, Assistant County Administrator Margaret Dunn said the county was unable to meet the advertising timeline requirements to hold the hearing on the date.
