A Perry man sustained minor injuries Wednesday when the Jeep he was driving rolled four times, crushing the passenger’s side of the roof like a tin can. Terry Mathis Kaiser, 55, was transported to Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) from the scene, approximately one mile south of Salem.
Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Trooper W.B. Young reported Kaiser was northbound on U.S. 19 when he traveled off the roadway and overcorrected. The action caused the 1998 Jeep Cherokee to spin counterclockwise, crossing both northbound travel lanes. The vehicle entered the grassy median and overturned an estimated four times before coming to a rest on its wheels facing south. Kaiser was cited for failure to maintain a single lane. The crash happened around 3:30 p.m.
