    Refs throw 44 flags for 420 yards in Bulldogs’ 22-14 loss to Dixie County

    Despite dominating the first quarter and jumping out to a 14-0 lead just 6 minutes into the game, the Taylor County Bulldogs were overcome by a whopping 26 penalties for 255 yards and suffered a second-half collapse in a 22-14 season-opening loss to the Dixie County Bears Friday night in Cross City.

    The rivalry game was marred by penalty flags, as the Suwannee Officials Association crew flagged the two teams for an unprecedented 44 penalties for 420 yards.
