Judge asks for help on district maps

In the wake of the Florida Legislature’s inability to agree on a new congressional district map for the state, Leon County Circuit Judge Terry Lewis has asked the Florida Supreme Court for guidance on how to proceed in the case.

Meanwhile, several federal lawsuits have been filed alleging the process mandated by the court violates either the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution or the Federal Voting Rights Act.
