SR 51 remains closed

While work to repair the sinkhole which forced the closure of SR 51 between Steinhatchee and Tennille is progressing, those efforts have been hampered after three small sinkholes were discovered in the same general area along the highway.

Two of the new sinkholes are located in the adjacent ditch and one is along the edge of the pavement, officials said.
