SR 51 open for holiday weekend

SR 51 between Steinhatchee and Tennille is once again open and is expected to remain open through the Labor Day weekend until additional work will force it closed for several days next week.

According to officials with the Florida Department of Transportation, it was their intention to have the roadway, which has been closed since Aug. 15 due to a sinkhole, re-opened and the detour removed.
