Local officials are expressing disappointment after the federal government announced it would not declare a state of emergency in Florida following the flooding which affected Steinhatchee and much of the Gulf coast southward to Tampa.
“We are disappointed that Florida was denied a federal declaration and have now been informed that we will not qualify for Small Business Administration (SBA) funding,” Taylor County Emergency Management Director Steve Spradley said Thursday.
