Fighting fires is a way of life for John Fish.
In his newest role as fire chief for the State of Florida, Fish recently found himself across the nation in the state of Washington which has experienced an unprecedented fire season and too much tragedy, too.
Fish was part of a Learning/Investigative Team dispatched to study one of these fires, the Twisp River Fire–and the lives it claimed–from all angles: the fire’s behavior, the equipment used, the protective gear of firefighters, the damage, the strategies and tactics, as well as preventative measures for the future.
