City council to give itself 82% pay hike?

With a 4-1 vote Tuesday night, the Perry City Council authorized its attorney to draft an ordinance that would give members an 82 percent salary increase.

Mayor Mike Deming was the lone “no” vote on the motion brought forward by Councilwoman Shirlie Hampton and supported by Councilwoman Venita Woodfaulk, Councilman David Sullivan and Councilman Alan Hall.
