Under the tentative $40.2 million budget approved Monday by the Taylor County Commission, all full-time county employees will be paid a minimum of $10.50 an hour.
Much of the budget discussions this year, which spanned several lengthy workshops in July, were over salaries. The initial budget presented at the start of the workshops included a series of proposed salary increases, the majority of which the result of County Administrator Dustin Hinkel’s attempts to further implement the county’s new pay scale structure based on a study the board commissioned in 2014.
