Historian to talk about 1935 hurricane at library

Tallahassee historian and author Thomas Neil Knowles will be the guest speaker at the Monday, Sept. 28, meeting of the Friends of the Taylor County Public Library.

His books include “Category Five: The 1935 Labor Day Hurricane” and “Long Key: Flagler’s Island Getaway.”

Born and raised in Key West, Knowles now lives in Tallahassee and is a retired Florida State University administrator.

The free program will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the library, which is located at 403 N. Washington St. The public is invited to attend.
