PPD officer escapes injury after being struck by a vehicle

A Perry Police Department (PPD) officer escaped serious harm after a woman backed her vehicle into him Friday, striking him in the leg.

Keondra Chaunte Gainous, 30, is being held at the Taylor County Jail on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a vehicle, aggravated fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest with violence and obstructing an officer.
