The wind was awful, but 85 brave souls went out to test their fishing abilities last Friday and Saturday for the Steinhatchee Community Fishing Tournament, sponsored by the Steinhatchee Community Projects Board.
Kyle Welsh of Steinhatchee brought in a beautiful 7.6-pound redfish to take first place in the redfish contest. Jackie Rigsby, 14, of West Melbourne brought in a nice 7.15-pound red to claim second place.
