SR 51 sinkhole repair cost? $364,988

The work to fill several sinkholes and repair SR 51 between Steinhatchee and Tennille, which is still underway more than a month after it began, has cost the state $364,988.

Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) officials said those costs include the current supplemental agreement with Cal-Tech Testing, Inc., the second emergency contract the agency has issued since the sinkhole was first reported Aug. 15, four miles north of Steinhatchee.
