The School of Theatre at Florida State University kicks off its 2015-16 season with “Some Girl(s),” which opens tonight (Friday, Oct. 2) at the Lab Theatre in Tallahassee and will continue through Oct. 11.
Directed by Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Directing candidate Carrie Colton, this production follows Guy as he travels the country looking up old girlfriends in an attempt to make amends for past heartbreak before he gets married. As his parade of broken relationships unfolds, a much darker side of human ambition is revealed. Guy forces us to explore individualism, selfishness, power and manipulation, ending with the question: In the pursuit of self-fulfillment, what are we willing to do not only for love, but to it?
