Pushing his toy car across the floor on an imaginary track, Channon Neal is all smiles and constant motion.
Watching the three-year-old play, it’s hard to believe that less than 48 hours ago, he was strapped in a helicopter rushing to Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
However, a small red puncture on his right foot tells the tale—Neal was bitten by a pygmy rattlesnake and was racing the clock to reach a dose of anti-venom.
